Interface Polymers Successfully Scales Up Polarfin® Compatibiliser Production

Interface Polymers is delighted to announce the successful scale-up of our Polarfin® Compatibiliser production, completed in January 2025, from our pilot plant in Visakhapatnam, India. This milestone marks a significant step in our commitment to delivering high-performance diblock copolymer solutions at a commercial scale.

Following this successful scale-up, our first production batch was shipped to Wells Performance Materials Ltd, our European Masterbatching Partner and a leading UK compounder with over 40 years of expertise, for formulation of our Masterbatch product.

Demand for Polarfin® has been exceptional, with the initial production run selling out within just one month. To accommodate this strong market interest, additional production runs are scheduled for May and August 2025 to fulfil outstanding sample requests.

Polarfin® Compatibiliser samples have been requested by a diverse range of industry stakeholders across the global value chain, including polymer producers, distributors, compounders, converters, film producers, machine manufacturers, recyclers, and brand owners. These customers are eager to incorporate Polarfin® into their formulations to resolve compatibility issues in multilayer films such as PE/tie/PA, PE/tie/EVOH, PE/PET, and PE/PP/cellulose (pallet wrap film). By improving the mechanical and optical properties of mixed waste, Polarfin® Compatibiliser enables its recycling back into the PE stream, contributing to more sustainable practices.

Beyond multilayer film applications, Polarfin® Compatibiliser also offers promising potential for other uses, such as a grafted-tie layer replacement, battery separator films, impact modification in PA for automotive applications, and a non-halogen flame retardant dispersant, etc.
